How to Block an SBI ATM Card through SMS, Phone Number, or Internet Customers of State Bank of India can ban their debit card if it is lost or stolen. SBI ATM Block Number

A stolen or lost card should always be blocked. You should block your card before it comes into the hands of the wrong people. Customers were also instructed to ‘immediately Block your card when it is lost by contacting your bank about the loss of the card’.

How to Block an SBI ATM Card, You may easily obtain a State Bank of India ATM card. You have the following choices for SBI ATM block:

I’ll go over each of these methods for Blocking a State Bank of India card. You can choose any of them based on your preferences.

SBI ATM ban by dialing the customer service number

Account holders will need to phone the State Bank of India customer service line to get their ATM blocked.

To ban a card, dial the SBI card customer service toll-free number 1800112211, 18004253800, or 00918026599990 (ISD/STD) and follow the IVR instructions.

If you are calling from outside India, dial 0091-80-2659-9990.

After selecting the card block option, your call will be routed to a customer service representative. To verify your identification, the contact centre will ask you some questions about your account.

Your misplaced SBI ATM card will be disabled immediately after you have verified your account ownership.

I personally suggest this method since speaking with a real person ensures that your State Bank of India card has been effectively stopped.

Remember to get a reference number from the call centre for future use.

How to block SBI ATM Card by SMS

Customers can also block SBI ATM card by sending an SMS from their registered mobile number to 567676 –

BLOCK space Last four digits of your ATM card number to 567676

Example Block 1234 and sent it to 567676.

‘BLOCK(space) **** (last four digits of your ATM card number)’ text message To ban your SBI debit card, send an SMS to 567676 from your registered cellphone number.

Your bank will send you a confirmation message right away.

How to Block an ATM Card from State Bank of India Using Internet Banking

Consumers who have an online banking account can use it to block their account. In a previous post, I demonstrated how to activate SBI net banking service from home. If you haven’t activated the service yet, I strongly advise you to do so.

Individuals who utilise online banking can disable their debit card by following the instructions outlined below.

SBI has made it possible for users to restrict their ATM cards via online banking. It is a free service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Use your login credentials to access SBI internet banking.
  • From the main menu, select e-Services, then select ATM Card Services from the left sidebar.
  • Choose the Block Card option from the ATM Card Services menu.
    • Choose an account, then a card from your selection of options.
  • Choose OTP or Profile Password as the form of validation.
  • After finishing validation mode, choose your reason for blocking and click ‘Confirm’ to block your card.
    • You will be notified through SMS that your card has been successfully banned.

Mobile banking Hotlist card

SBI Yono mobile banking app is another option for disabling SBI ATM card online. Have you set up mobile banking yet? Then check out this page titled ‘How to Activate SBI Mobile Banking?’ You may activate this service from home in 5 minutes.

Active mobile banking customers can open their mobile banking app and proceed as follows:

  • Access the SBI Yono mobile banking app.
  • On the app’s home screen, choose Services.
  • Choose Debit Card Hotlisting for the SBI ATM block.
  • Enter your account number.
  • When you’ve chosen your account, a new option will show on your smartphone screen, requiring you to enter your card number.
  • Choose the card you wish to block.
  • Choose a cause for State Bank of India card blocking from the drop down menu.
  • Provide some words about your card hotlisting in the Comments area.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • Confirm your selection, and you’re done.

Sending an Email

Account users can also restrict their SBI ATM card by emailing contactcentre@sbi.co.in.

You must include your ATM card number (but not your ATM PIN) in the email, as well as the reason for the blockage. Here’s an illustration:

If the consumer does not have access to any of the aforementioned ways, he can visit any SBI Bank branch to get his card banned.
